Q. Do people with pre diabetes have some of the symptoms
as people with type 1 and type 2 diabetes? Right now my
blood sugar was just a little high, but I don't have those other symptoms.
A. The American Diabetes Association's website states:
"People with pre-diabetes don't often have symptoms.
In fact, millions of people have diabetes and don't know it because
symptoms develop so gradually, people often don't recognize them.
Some people have no symptoms at all. Symptoms of diabetes include
unusual thirst, a frequent desire to urinate, blurred vision, or a
feeling of being tired most of the time for no apparent reason."
Pre-Diabetes is unique in that weight loss, following a healthy diet to
support weight loss, and regular physical exercise can help to delay
onset of type 2 diabetes (National Diabetes Prevention Program).
